I can't believe that we are already over half way through January. This month is flying by. Well, actually time has just been flying by ever since the twins were born. So far the year has been really good except for one thing... I went back to work :(. The weekend before I went back to work was rough. I was having a really hard time coping with the fact that I wasn't going to be with my babies all day. I had spent almost every minute of their lives with them! I was seriously having separation anxiety. I kept telling myself that I was doing this for them, and would be best for all of us if I went back to work.
So, the first day of work came. By this time I had been off work for 7 months (including summer vacation) and I was a little nervous about going back to work. The day was not all that bad, but a lot harder to get back into the swing of things then I thought. I was anxiously waiting for 3:45 so I could head home. Once that time came I rushed out of work (I couldn't get home fast enough) to see my babies! As soon as I got home I'll never forget their reactions. Lexy smiled instantly!! She is such a smiley girl! Randy, my little man, started crying! It was almost as if he was saying, "I missed you mommy!!" Let's just say now, each day, I look forward to the time that I get to go home and see my babies! My goal is to spend as much time after work and on the weekends as I can with my babies. Since I don't get to be with them all day, that is my way to catch up on lost time! I sure miss them while I'm at work, but I'm so happy when I see their little faces when I get home! It's like they are so happy to see me!! I love it!!!
Well, some fun things have been going on with the babies these last couple of months. Lexy has been smiling almost since the day she was born. She is always laughing!!! As for Randy, that boy never smiled. My mom would say that you have to pay that boy to get him to smile! LOL!! But now... he may be my little serious man, but he sure has his moments when he smiles. They both have the most beautiful smiles EVER!!! :-) They both started giggling out loud sometime in November! It is so cute to hear them laugh! There best times are in the morning when I'm getting them ready for the day, they smile and laugh and just have such a GREAT time!! And also bath time. They absolutely love bath time!! Again lots of smiles and laughs!!! But the funny thing is that as soon as I put their jammies on, they immediately start crying because they know what's going to happen after tubby time... dinner!!!
Some other things that Randy and Lexy have done are:
-Lexy noticed her brother for the first time in November! It was so cute!! Now you can catch her smiling and laughing at him. Just today, I picked Randy up because he was crying, and Lexy started laughing!! LOL!!
-Randy noticed his sister on January 4! To cute... as soon as he saw her he got the biggest, cutest little smile on his face. He now looks at her and smiles and laughs as well!
-On January 7, Randy spent his for night in his crib. He's such a big little man!
-On January 9, Lexy rolled over in her play pen for the first time. I honestly think she surprised herself when she did. I'm so happy that I was up looking at her when it happened! We are still waiting on Randy to start.
-On January 19, Lexy started rolling all over the place! Way to cute! I can't believe how active and independent she already is. I have video on her rolling which I'll have to post later. Too cute!
They are at such a fun and cute stage right now! I'm having so much fun with them! I love my babies. It is amazing how you can love someone so much! They are my everything. And I would have to say that I have the most incredible husband! He most definitely deserves an A+ for Daddyhood! He is so wonderful with them! I couldn't ask for a better husband and father for my babies. I love my little family and I thank God every day for the wonderful blessings in my life!!!
Until next time!! :-)

January 13, 2011: The 411 on 2010
I would have to say that last year was one of the best and most memorable years of my life! It was the year I got pregnant with my beautiful twins. For a few years before that, Brandon and I had decided we wanted to start a family and so we tried. Unfortunately it took a little longer than we expected, but God's timing is perfect and we were blessed in 2010 with our Randy and Lexy.
I remember it all like it was yesterday. It was January 11, 2010 (almost exactly a year ago), we came home from Joseph's (Brandon's youngest brother) birthday party at Corsaro's, and for some reason I decided to take a pregnancy test. I did and I waited, as I had done for so many months before that, but something was different this time. This time the test read PREGNANT! I was in shock! Was I really seeing what I thought I was seeing, so I went out and showed Brandon, and yep I sure did read it right!! We were pregnant!! I was so excited and nervous at the same time! I was excited at the fact that we were pregnant, but nervous because I was afraid of loosing the baby again. So I immidiately made and appointment with my doctor to have things checked out.
During this time, my doctor had me do blood tests for a couple weeks to make sure the hormone levels were going up, and they were. Then a few weeks later my doctor scheduled us for an ultrasound to make sure there was a live fetus. So, we went to our ultrasound, both excited and nervous, praying that everything would be ok and that the baby was fine. As we were in there, the ultrasound tech said, "ok, here's the heartbeat" (showed us the heartbeat and we were thrilled!) and then all of a sudden she moves the little ultrasound wand over a little and says "and here's another heartbeat"!!! We were shocked! I remember looking at Brandon as we both asked, "What... there are two babies?" and she said, "Yes!" I looked back at Brandon and he all of a sudden turned pale (poor guy, he didn't know what to think). I was more happy and excited then words could express. I think Brandon was just a little scared and worried about not knowing what was going to happen. Not only were we going to have a baby, we were going to have TWINS! Never in my life did I ever think that I was going to be the mother of twins, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
That's when we decided that we were going to have to start telling people because there was no way we were going to be able to keep this to ourselves. (Let me just say that from the beginning of the pregnancy my mom had said, jokingly, that I was going to have twins. And then the night before my ultrasound my sister had a dream that I told her I was going to have twins and it was going to be a girl and a boy. And also, my bestie, Jessica, had always said from the beginning, I hope you have two so that you can have one and I can have one. Well, it all came true! Crazy crazy!!!) Sharing the news was fun and exciting. We told everybody. I even remember telling my 8th grade class and they were absolutely so excited for me.
Well, the months went by and before I new it I was almost 7 months pregnant. Crazy how fast time was flying by. By this time we knew that we were going to have a boy and a girl and were going to name them Randall and Alexa (Randy and Lexy). We had many ultrasounds done at Valley Children's hospital just to make sure everything was ok, and it was. Randy and Lexy were prefect and growing just the way they were suppose to! By the time the summer hit I was getting really big and was starting to have signs of possible pre-term labor so I was put on bed rest. I was on best rest for 2 months. Let's just say they were a very long 2 months, but I wouldn't have done it any different!
My due date was September 18th and we were planning a c-section so we sceduled it for September 8, (38 1/2 weeks pregnant). August came around and we were almost positive I was going to have the babies in August, but it came and went, and before I knew it, it was September 8! We made it! My babies were going to be born on September 8, and were going to share the same birthday as their papa Randy. What a special day for all of us!
My surgery was scheduled for 12:00 noon, and as the time was approaching I was getting very nervous. My biggest fear was being numb. But I spoke with the anastesiologist, and he reassured me that if I started to feel anxious he would give me something to relax me. As they wheeled me into the operating room I was very nervous, and they gave me the spinal and soon my doctor came in (which helped ease my nerves because I absolutely LOVE my doctor) and then Brandon came in, and we were set! Minutes later I remember Dr. Dhillon saying baby A is out and it's a BOY! and baby B will be out in just a minute. And exactly a minute later, baby B is out and it's a GIRL! I was sooooooooooooooooooo excited and over joyed. I don't really remember who I heard cry first, but I think it was Lexy and soon after I heard Randy. After that I don't remember much because I started to get anxious and the anastesiologist gave me something to calm me down.

Alexa Wyvonne Belt born at 12:46pm 6 lbs 12 oz, 18 inches long
Finally they wheeled me into my room where I saw my family waiting to see me. It was so great to see everybody and their smiling faces. And then the moment that I will never forget, the first time I got to hold my babies. They wheeled them in the room in their little hospital bassinets, took them out and handed them to me. I couldn't stop starring at them. They were the most beautful babies I had ever seen :)! I couldn't believe that they were mine! I had carried them in my belly for almost 9 months they were actually here! I couldn't believe that I was the mother of twins! And still to this day, it is still an absolute mystery on how those two big beautiful babies fit in my belly!
And now, it's been almost 4 months and I still can't believe that they are mine! I can't believe that I am a mom, and a mom of twins at that! I have been truely blessed! God is GREAT! I am very excited for 2011 to see what excitement it brings watching my little precious miracles as they grow!

January 12, 2011: My Very First Post!
I'm excited to say that I am officially starting a blog for my little family, The Little Belt Family! :-) I'm hoping this can be a way that I can keep in touch with family and friends and share all the interesting things that happen in our lives! Now that we have the twins, I hope to use this as a way to write down some of the little milestones that Randy and Lexy reach so we never forget them! I'm really excited to get this started!
