April brings lots of fun to the Belt house!

April has brought a lot of fun to the Belt house.  The twins are getting to be so much fun!  They are doing so much, being so active and getting to be very vocal!  I am loving every minute!

First let's start off with the some stats for the twins.  As of Thursday, April 21:

Randy is 19 lbs. 7oz. and 27 1/2 inches long!  What a big boy!!!  :) He's definitely growing!! The nurse said he's as big as a 12 month old and he's only 7 1/2 months old!  I have a feeling he might be taller than mommy and daddy when he gets older (which wouldn't be hard to beat!!  lol!)

Lexy, my little dainty girl, is 16 lbs. 6 oz and 25 inches long.  She is steadily gaining weight and has been 3 lbs. behind her brother for a couple months now.  So they are gaining at about the same rate.  She still has her tummy problem and spits up all the time. :( We went to the specialist and he put her on some new medication and it was working great for about a month, but then it all came back.  I have a feeling that it might be because she's teething.  (already has 1 tooth and the 2nd one is just about to come through, I think.)Poor thing!  But the good thing is that she's not upset when it happens. She's actually always smiling.  (they call that a happy spitter!)

Randy is all over the place now with his rolling!  It's so cute because he'll be in one spot for a minute and then you turn around or walk away for a minute or two, and then when you come back, you can't find him.  He's not where you left him! So, he's making his way by rolling, and it looks like he will be scooting pretty soon!  He's such a mellow baby!  He's so good!  Knows how to entertain himself and is happy with that.  His favorite thing to do is jump in his jumparoo.  And it's funny because if you put him in his sister's or in somebody else's he's not as happy.  He knows which is his!  And one more thing... he's got a smile that will make any one's heart melt (well, at least it does that to mine!  :) With that, just the other day, he found himself in the mirror.  It was the cutest thing.  On his sister's jumaproo, there is mirror that you have to look down to see, so when we were at my sisters and I noticed that he had his head down.  At first I thought he was sleeping, but then all of a sudden, he started cracking himself up.  That's when I realized he saw himself in the mirror!  It was too cute.  I wish I would have had the camera right at that moment!  It was priceless and he kept on doing it for a good 20 minutes or so!!  Too cute!!!

Here is a video of Randy doing one of his newest little sounds and mouth movements!!  Too funny!!!

Now Lexy, on the other hand, she's my ball of fire!  That girl is nonstop!  I know I say that a lot, but there is no other way to explain it!  :)  She has finally learned how to crawl putting one hand in front of the other.  She's been crawling for a while now, but she's been completely content with her army crawl.  But now she's figured out that she can move faster if she does one hand and one leg first.  Smart little girl! :)  Also, she's pulling herself up on everything!  It started with the bouncer chairs, and then the couch, and now it's everything she can get her hands on!  (even small toys)  Once she's got her balance, she let's go of one hand, so now you see her standing, only holding on with one hand.  And she looks at you and looks around like trying to say, "Yep, I'm good!!  Look at what I'm doing!" :) The other day, I was holding on to her hands while she was standing and she decided to let go and stand on her own.  And she did it, just for a few seconds, but she did it!!  Crazy girl!  And now when she falls, she's gotten really good at landing on her tooshy!!  It's so fun to see all the new and interesting things they do and learn on their own!  Another thing she has gotten really good at is reaching out to people if she wants up or if she wants to go to them.  Too cute!  I love it when she wants to come to me.  Her two favorite things right now are 1) looking at herself in the mirror.  She just gets a kick out of it.  So we make sure and give her some Lexy and Mirror time before her bath! and 2) She loves me!  haha... well they both do, but what I mean by this is that I have become her new favorite toy... the human jungle gym.  When I'm on the floor, she picks herself up by grabbing on to me and crawls and climbs all over me.  It's so funny!! (if you can't tell already, she is definitely my more active one!)

Here is a video of Lexy doing what she does best now, pulling herself up and standing!  Silly girl!!  This was taken in the first part of April, when she first started pulling herself up.  Now she is a pro!!

One of the funnest things that the twins are doing is that they are really starting to really recognize each other.  They've noticed each other a while back, but now that they are more active and verbal, they are starting to communicate with one another.  This started close to the end of month 6, starting month 7.  They will look at each other and just start jabbering and then start laughing.  It is the cutest things ever!!  Some of their best conversations are when they are in their jumparoos!!  :-)

Here is a video I was able to get of them interacting with each other while they were playing in their room!!

7 months Old!!

OMGoodness!!  My babies are 7 months old!  I can't believe how fast time is flying by!!  These last 7 months, Brandon and I have been learning so much and enjoying every minute of it.  I can still remember bringing them home and thinking... oh my, what do we do now?  But just like everyone says, things just come naturally.  And they do!  I remember before I had the twins, I was talking to my mom and I told her that I was worried that I wasn't going to know what to do with these babies after they were born, and I'll never forget her response.  She said, "You'll be surprised with yourself.  Nobody will be know how to take care of your babies better than you will!"  Gotta love my Mommy! I don't know what I would do without her!  She is my best helper.  She is always there.  Thank you Mom!!  We love you!

Now, as for the twins!  7 months!!  Crazy Crazy Crazy!!  Each day they keep doing more and more things.  I love to watch all that they do!  Randy is starting to roll all over the place!  My boy is finally getting the hang of it. :) Pretty soon he'll be crawling!  Lexy, well, this girl is on roll and doing things like crazy and so soon!  Just the other day I was drying brother off after his bath and she was in the playpen behind me and next thing I know I feel little hands on my back.  I turned around and there she was.  Lexy was standing up in the playpen.  She pulled herself up and grabbed for me!  Then the next day, I walked in their room to see if they were awake and they were.  So I started off saying Good Morning to Randy and next thing I know, I see Lexy standing up in her crib looking at mommy and brother!  Too funny!!!  Good thing we had already dropped her crib down a notch.  We did that as soon as we saw that she was able to sit up on her own. Time just flies by too fast! :)  Pretty soon I'll be planning their 1st birthdays!  YIKES!!  Where does the time go?

Here are some pictures that we had taken at JCPenny a couple of weeks ago for Easter and for their 6 month pictures (well, more like 6 1/2 month pictures!  lol)

Spring time is here!

Here at the Belt house, we are so happy that the sun is finally out!  After weeks of rain, and being couped up in the house, it is time to go outside and enjoy the sun!  Each day this week, after I get home from work, my mom and I take Randy and Lexy outside so they can enjoy the sunshine.  It is so cute to see them react to something new.  They love being outside! I'm excited for them to be able to play around in the back yard and enjoy themselves.  Lexy does pretty good with the sun, just flinches a little, but them gets her eyes adjusted to it, but Randy, poor baby, he seems to have ultra sensitive eyes (takes after his daddy).  Every time we step out in the sunlight he squints really hard and his little eyes start to water.  Guess that just means I'll have to get him some pretty cool shades!!  :)

Here are some pictures of Randy and Lexy in their new toy, their red wagon!  They LOVE it already, even though they are still a little too small to hang out in it together.  But for the mean time, one at a time, or I, learned, that their car seats fit perfect!

Love their new toy!!  Can't wait until they can have fun in it together!

Along with playing with their new toy, I also broke out the umbrella strollers that my God mother Espinola got for them at my baby shower!  They loved it too!! These two love being outside.  Happy babies make a happy mommy!! :)

Lexy trying to decide which shooshoo (binkey) she wants!

Randy is ready for a ride in his new umbrella stroller!

Let's go Mama and Avo!!

All tuckered out from the stoll around the nieghborhood!

Some of the new things that are going on with the twins are:

-Lexy is officially crawling!!  There is no stopping that girl.  Just the other day she was playing leap frog over her brother!  It was too cute and so funny to watch, but poor Randy,  he wasn't too sure about what was going on.

-Lexy is sitting up on her own!! She'll be crawling around and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, there she is sitting up all by herself with no support.  This little girl is doing so much, so soon!!!
-Randy is starting to get really good at rolling over from his tummy to his back!  He's been rolling over from back to tummy for awhile now, but it's taken a little while for him to get used to going to is back from his tummy.

-Both Randy and Lexy love to sleep on their tummies.  And when they sleep they LOVE their cribs!  There's nothing better to sleep in than their cribs!  I love it!

-Lexy is ready to chew gum... ok, maybe not quite ready, LOL!!  Her first tooth is coming through the gums.  It's the front left tooth on the bottom.  Crazy, that my little baby girl is getting her teeth already!  It seems like just yesterday they were born! (Time sure does fly by when your having fun!)

Lexy showing her pearly whites!  Ok, not quite yet, but there's a little one coming in! :-)

-Both babies LOVE LOVE LOVE music!  I will put them in their jumparoos and turn some music on and they have a blast!  Randy can usually last over an hour in his jumparoo.  He loves that thing!  And Lexy, more like 30 min. at most!  LOL, she's just such a busy little girl, can't stand doing the same thing for too long.

-They have both been eating solids.  They enjoy eating bananas, pears, prunes (too funny, and it's a nice little laxative too) :), apples, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots and Randy likes green beans and peas (Gerber Baby food).  Lexy is a little more picky.  They love their little finger food snacks and enjoy drinking water in between meals. Brandon gave them their first taste of an otter pop, Lexy loved it, Randy on the other hand loved the taste but wasn't too sure about the coldness of it.

-On April 3, I gave Randy a taste of mashed potatoes and real carrots, it was funny watch his face.  He wasn't too sure about either one of them.  I'm not to sure he's ready for that consistency yet because after a few tries, he wouldn't even open his mouth, which surprises me because that boy can eat.  That same day I also gave them each a taste of banana pudding.  Yum Yum Yum!!  Lexy loved it!  Randy had just had his bottle, so he was full and wasn't hungry.

-April 4, I gave them both bananas in the little banana holder/squishy food thingy!  LOL oh my goodness did they LOVE the banana!!!!  They enjoyed being able to hold it by themselves and loved loved loved eating it!!!

Yum, Yum, Yummy!!!!!

Randy LOVED it and wanted MORE!!!

We Like to eat, eat, eat, apples and BANANAS!!

-For my sister's birthday, we took my sister and her family (3 kids, a 6 year old, 4 year old, and a 5 month old) to Applebee's.  The dinner went great!  It was fun to have all the kids together and out and about!  Also, that was the first time Randy had a taste of a French Fry.  My sister gave it to him, and he seemed to enjoy it!  :)  What kid doesn't like French Fries!!  :)

Now that they are able to eat different things, my husband and I are having fun seeing what they like and watching their facial expressions on the things that they are not so sure of!  Too cute and so funny!!

One more pic....

My boy, at the K9 dinner, sporting his new hat!  Gotta be like daddy always wearing a hat!

Each day these little guys bring new and exciting things into our lives.  They are just so much fun and I count my blessings every day because the Lord has def. blessed me with two beautiful healthy babies!  I always say that my lucky number is 2, because everything comes in two's at my house now!  And I wouldn't have it any other way!  These babies are my true joy in my life!  I can't imagine my life without them, and I know their daddy feels the same way.  We are so blessed and I am so in love with my little family and am enjoying each and every day with them!

I will be posting a 7 month blog soon with more pictures and hopefully more videos!  I can't believe that my babies are almost 7 months old!  That's just crazy to me but man am I having fun!!!  :)
