9 months old!!!!

Wow!!! Could it be? My babies are 9 months old!!! It's crazy to think that they have been here with us, longer in the outside world than in the womb! Time goes by so fast!! And it seems that with each passing month it just goes by even faster then the one before!

It's amazing how much babies grow, learn, and do, in such a short amount of time. I look at the twins and think to myself, how is it that they know how to do all this stuff? It seems like only days ago they were in their boppies just laying there and now they are so independent wanting to do things all by themselves!! They are so much fun to watch. Even funnier to see their little individual personalities shine through. They may be twins, but man are they different in so many ways. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the fact they are fraternal twins, but since the day they were born they are and have been so different. From the things that they do to the bottles they drink out of, to the pacifiers they suck on. All different!!

Happy 9 months Babies!!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you both!!!

Lexy, 9 month Birthday! :-)

This month for her 9 month physical and Lexy weighed in at 18 lbs 6 oz and 27 1/4 inches long.
Lexy is slowly gaining on her brother.  She has been doing so much better as far as her spitting up.  She still does it some, but ever since we started giving her more solids, she is doing much better.  Also, doctor said she is is a little anemic (takes after mommy) so he wants her to eat more meat.  This month, this little stinker has started walking on us.  First she started off by standing by herself not holding on to anything.  This happened for some time and each time she was able to stand longer.  Then on June 12, she took her first step.  It didn't get her very far, but it was her first step.  Then on June 21 she took 2 steps, with no help and on June 22 she took 4 steps!  So we are just waiting to see what comes next.  It's so cute to watch something so little move like she moves.  She loves to clap her hands and has started to wave  bye-bye to people! Her favorite game is to throw things down on the ground watch them fall and wine for mommy or daddy to pick them up. (gotta love this game LOL).  So we give in once maybe twice, but then, sorry Lex you don't get it any more.  :-)  Also, she loves to play the game of going back and forth to and from different people.  She gets a kick out of it.  Too cute!! She's got such a personality on her. She is such a smart little girl. Doing so much and learning so much! She is all over the place and in constant motion.  Crawling, attempting to walk, and pulling herself up.  Crazy little girl!!!

Randy, 9 Month Birthday!

This month for his 9 month physical, Randy weighed in at 20 lbs. 15 oz. 28 inches long.
He is growing so big and so fast!!  As for everything else at the doctor's visit, everything looks great!!  Doctor says he looks good!  So proud of my big boy!!  This month Randy has accomplished so much.  We noticed that he had been fussy for awhile, which is not his usual self, and then out of now where a tooth popped out.  This happened June 11.  Then about a day later, another tooth broke through the surface of the gums.  Poor baby boy!!!  2 teeth almost in one shot!  Must have been painful.  But now, he's got as many teeth as sister has and by the looks of it he may be getting his 3rd tooth before sister.  :-) Along with that, Randy started really scooting around on his tummy.  It's almost like an army crawl!!  Yay, bubba is mobile!!  He doesn't get frustrated as much any more about tummy time of the floor.  Now he can look somewhere decide he wants to be there, and goes for it and gets there!! My smart little big man!!  I love to just watch him on the go.  He just seems so happy to be able to go where he wants to and it's funny the positions he gets himself into.  For instance, for some reason he likes to crawl through the walker.  Today he did that while his sister was in the walker and got stuck.  Poor thing, didn't know what to do to get out, so mommy came to the rescue.

This month, now that mommy is on summer vacation, YAAAAAYYYY!!!!, we have started a new feeding time routine.  When babies get up in the morning, I feed them oatmeal and fruit and then I give them a bottle of formula, which they can now hold all by themselves!!  So cute!!  I love to watch them.  Then for lunch, grandma has been making them homemade soup.  They absolutely LOVE it!!!!  I tried feeding them some of the Gerber baby food, veggies, and they hated it LOL!!  Too funny, I guess you get the good stuff, there's nothing else you want.  So that's what they get for lunch, grandma's homemade soup and then fruit or yogurt for dessert.  And then they get two more bottles before bed time.  Usually at our dinner time they tend to get fussy, so we let them experiment with some of the foods we eat.  Doctor said that they can eat everything we eat, except eggs, fish and our milk.  They love to try new stuff, especially Lexy.  She eyes food really bad.  Just the other day they both tried mashed potatoes and gagged!  Then Lexy tried fresh strawberries and blueberries and loved it.  And just tonight they both tried spaghetti with meat sauce and liked it.  Lexy seems to take regular food better than Randy does.  He seems to have a problem with different types of texture.  But he's a sport and likes to try everything.  They have also started feeding themselves finger foods, crackers, animal cookies, etc.  They love to do that! :-)

Also, this month, we decided it was time to move them into separate rooms.  If I new how different they were going to be from each other, I would have started off with two different nurseries, but oh well, better late than never.  So, because the nursery was in a western theme, more neutral colors and really good for a boy, we decided to keep Randy in that room. I went ahead and kept the western theme and changed it and made it a little girly, Cowgirl Princess, for Lexy.  It turned out so cute.  Her first night in her room was June 14 and she did great.  Randy did great in his room too.  They actually did so well, they both slept in until about 8:30-9 the next morning.  And then naps the next day were like we'd never have them before.  They each took 2 naps, and they were anywhere from 2-3 hours long!!  It was AWESOME!!!  Unbelievable, more like it! :-) So, now they each have their own room and occasionally like to go visit eacher other's rooms!

Now for a few fun photos that I had to add!

First time in a shopping cart (with the shopping cart guard, of course!) :-)  She did so well!!

First time in shopping card, with cart guard too.  He did pretty good, but decided he wanted out pretty early in the shopping trip.

 And for some summer fun.

I bought them a little kiddie pool, which I'm excited to watch them play in.  So tonight, I had daddy and avo air it up for them, and let them take a test drive the their new pool with no water in it.  Hopefully tomorrow they'll get suited up and get to play in the water for the first time!!  I'm so excited to see how they do.  A blog for that will be posted sometime soon! :-)

Lexy testing out her new pool!
